Tsay Keh Dene Nation is an off-grid community located in the northern region of the Rocky Mountain trench in north-central British Columbia. Since 2013, Community Power has worked in partnership with Tsay Keh Dene Nation to achieve a range of the community’s capacity building, energy efficiency and housing goals including developing a Community Energy Management Plan to help guide the Nation’s efforts in managing their supply and demand-side energy activities.
As part of the Nation’s capacity building initiatives, Community Power delivered energy efficiency measures training to the Tsay Keh Dene Carpentry Trades Program students. Training included hands-on training in weatherization, envelope repairs, air sealing and hot water saving measures, as well as a discussion of the relevant considerations in new home construction.
