Community Power celebrates International Indigenous Peoples Day

By Kambo Group IT | Blog | 0 comment | 9 August, 2018 | 0

On this International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples, the Community Power Team wants to applaud Canada’s Indigenous people, thank the communities we work with and celebrate the contributions that Indigenous people make to environmental protection and energy leadership.

Over the last decade our community partners have been our teachers and collaborators as we have worked together to save energy, reduce costs and improve the comfort and safety of housing.

We’re honoured to have been welcomed into hundreds of homes.

Energy Specialist Uli Chorny speaks to a community member in his home.

We’ve listened to the needs and goals of leadership and community members.

Workshops in the community gather everyone’s input to create custom energy management plan.

We’ve worked alongside communities to plan for their self-reliance.

Kwadacha First Nation biomass plant: wood chips help power this community 570km north of Prince George.

We’ve met many families.

Hi-fives for Construction and Energy Specialist Todd McBride.

We’re fortunate enough to get to travel to some of the most incredible locations in Canada.

On the ‘road’ to Dzawada’enuxw First Nation, off the east coast of Vancouver Island.

Sometimes it’s hard to leave.

A truck tows a plane bogged in wet sand on the runway at Kwadacha First Nation.

We look forward to the projects, people and places to come.

Happy International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples!
